Its main purpose is to protect the city from the imperial communities and countries. As part of the walled-district community, Fort Santiago can also be found, where Jose Rizal was exiled before the execution.  Manila Cathedral and San Agustin Church is a must-see cathedral in the Philippines. These cathedrals are one of the historical, since it was constructed during Spanish Colonial Period and designated as a World Heritage Site by UNESCO.
